A family-friendly 5K is taking place tomorrow in the Wellesley community, and it’s all for a great cause. The Richmond Hope Foundation is hosting the Wellesley 5K to raise money for the foundation to award scholarships and to host the Lose the Training Wheels program, which helps individuals with disabilities learn to independently ride a two-wheel bicycle.
The 5K course winds through the Wellesley subdivision and starts at the Shops at Wellesley on Lauderdale Drive.
Participants can register online in advance or at 8:00 a.m. the day of the race. The run begins at 9:00 a.m.
Family attractions and activities will include a visit from Nutzy of the Richmond Flying Squirrels, a moonwalk, and more. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers, and all participants will be in the running for door prizes from local vendors.
An after party will be held at The Halligan Bar and Grill in West Broad Village, with 10% of all purchases between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. donated to Richmond Hope Foundation. Runners and non-runners alike are invited to attend.
