Christmas Comes Early to Short Pump This Weekend with Christmas in July Event

It may be the middle of July and temperatures may be scorching, but it’s time to haul out the holly―at least at Short Pump Town Center. The mall’s annual Christmas in July takes place this coming Saturday, and it’s all for a great cause.

Richmond-based band “Offering” will headline a day of music and activities, including a visit from Santa Claus himself. Jen Towner from 98.9 Liberty will emcee the festivities.

The event aims to raise food donations, money, and awareness for the Central Virginia Food Bank each summer. Donations of non-perishable food as well as monetary contributions will be accepted from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Canned tuna, peanut butter, and vegetables top the list of the most needed items to stock the Food Bank’s shelves.

Other activities throughout the day will include face painting, a moon walk, and a coloring station for children, and adults can take advantage of food and drink samples from mall merchants, as well as one-day sales at a variety of stores.
